Corey Holmes, Director of Education at the historic Wayne Theatre in Waynesboro, Virginia, holds a BFA in Acting/Directing from Florida Atlantic University and dual master's degrees from MBU (M.Lit/MFA) in collaboration with the American Shakespeare Center. With a decade of experience as Artistic Director with StepVa, she developed arts education programs for students and adults with special needs. Corey has taught theatre and dance in public schools and private conservatories in northern Virginia. Recognized as a Virginia Commission of the Arts Teaching Artist, she also created a socio-emotional theatre curriculum for the National Educational Theatre Association. Corey chairs the Theatre of Youth Committee for the Virginia Theatre Association and serves on the steering committee for the Arts Education Dashboard of the Virginia Coalition for Fine Arts Education. She now leads the Poetry Out Loud competition housed at the Wayne Theatre.
